The Export of Indonesian commodities to China including Minerals Fuels, Nickel Derivatives and processed Fish Meat Rose
As per Indonesia Export Data, the export for the country for the years 2019 and 2018 stands at values $168 billion and $180 billion. The total value of Indonesia exports for both years had a decline in 7% as compared the total value during 2019 and 2018.
The main exports of the country are mineral fuels and oils. The country ranked at 32nd among the top exporters all across the globe. The major exports of Indonesia are Mineral fuels and oils, animal vegetable fats and oils, electronics, vehicles, iron and steel and so on.

As per Indonesia Import Data, the country ranks the 30th among the top importers of the world. The major imports of the country are Industrial machinery and parts followed by mineral fuel and oils, electronics, iron and steel, plastics and articles and so on. The main import partners are China, Singapore and Japan.
The country recorded a trade surplus of US$2.92 billion with China last year and emerged as Beijing’s third-largest trade partner. In the year 2021, Indonesia ranked third among ASEAN member states in terms of size of its trade with China up from fourth place in 2020 and fifth place in 2019.
The country’s exports to China jumped 70.02% to reach US$63.63 billion and its imports from China rose 47.87% to reach US$60.71 billion last year. Indonesia also enjoyed a surplus of US$ 2.92 billion last year.
The country’s imports from China mostly comprise raw materials required to enhance the productivity of the domestic industry. The export of Indonesian commodities to China including mineral fuels, nickel derivatives, ceramics, precious stones, natural pearls, cultivated pearls and processed fish meat rose more than 100% last year compared to previous year.
The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, the trade ministry and other government ministries have made constant efforts to resolve various trade barriers and find access to the Chinese market for Indonesian key commodities.
China heavily depends on Indonesia’s ferronickel supplies and saw its imports rising 15.8% from a year ago to 3.12 million mt in 2021 accounting for 84.2% of the country’s total.
