Organic Chemicals Import of Indonesia: The Trade Analysis of 2024
Indonesia based in Southeast Asia and the largest archipelago of the world, consisting of more than 17,000 islands, has recorded itself as the leading importer of organic chemicals in the international trade market. The strong industrial demand for organic chemicals, especially in textiles, automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals, is fueled by the overall import of organic chemicals from foreign authorities. The insufficient local production capacity of specialty chemicals due to the limited domestic refining strategies has been pivotal for the increase in revenue. The rising use of pharmaceuticals and agrochemical manufacturing is due to the lack of industrial consumption of the domestic output, whereas the foreign investment in infrastructure projects has contributed to the higher import of organic chemicals.
